Hatton Hill Day Nursery and Preschool

Maria Smith

Nursery Manager

Maria joined Hatton Hill in 1996 as a Nursery Assistant in the baby room. She then completed the NVQ 3 in 1997 and went on to become Senior Nursery Nurse, leading to her promotion as Deputy Manager in July 2005. In May 2010 Maria was promoted to Acting Nursery Manager which has led Maria to experience new and exciting developments in her career which she is very much enjoying.

In 2003, Maria gained her D32/D33 Assessors Award. She is also the workplace Health and Safety Coordinator and Fire warden, and holds a Peadiatric First Aid certificate.

In order to keep herself up to date with the world of childcare Maria regularly attends training.

Sarah O'Connor

Deputy Manager

Sarah has recently joned us and has had previouse deputy experience. She has completed her NVQ Level 3 and is currently doing the foundation degree in early years.

Sarah is looking forward to getting to know all the children, parents and staff.

Adele Donkersley

Junior Deputy Manager and 2s - 3s Room Manager

My name is Adele Donkersley, I am NNEB trained. I have been based at Hatton Hill since October 2005 as Room Manager for the 2-3’s area.

I have always wanted to work with children from a young age and really enjoy my role. Outside of nursery I enjoy going swimming and socialising with friends.

Jo Harris

Baby Room Manager

Hi my name is Jo, I am the Baby Room Manager. I started working as an appentice in a nursery in 2007. In 2009 I moved to Reading and spent time working as a Toddler Room Manager in a Surestart Children's Centre. I came to Hatton Hill in 2011 and am enjoy developing the room. I am also currently studying for Foundation Degree in Early Years to further my knowledge.

Sarah Leek

1s - 2s Room Manager and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator

Hello, my name is Sarah and I am the Hedgehogs Room Manager. I have been working with children since I left school in 2002 during which time I have gained a level 2 and 3 in Early Years Care and Education. I have a diploma in play work and I am working towards an Early Years Foundation degree.

I joined Hatton Hill in March 2011 and I’m looking forward to meeting all the children and parents. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy going to the cinema and reading a good book.

Zoe Webb

1s -2s Room Manager

My name is Zoe and I am the room manager in Butterflies. I started at Hatton Hill in March 2011 and have been in childcare for 4 years working with the under 2's. I am currently studying towards my Foundation Degree in Early Years with The Open University after completing my NVQ level 3 and wanting to carry on with my education towards children's learning and development.

Laura Docherty

2s-3s Room Manager

My name is Laura Docherty. I am the Room manager of Squirrels area. I completed my NVQ 2 in 2006 and my NVQ 3 in 2008. I am also interested in completing my NVQ 4.

I have worked with children since 2004 and have enjoyed every minute of it.

My hobbies are socialising with my friends and I also enjoy going to the gym in my spare time.

Claire Silva

Preschool Principal

My name is Claire Silva. Since 1999 I have been working as a qualified Nursery Nurse, I started in a day nursery in Feltham and stayed there for four years working with babies to Preschool aged children. In 2003, I went to work in a school in Hounslow with children aged 3-5 years until 2008 when I began working at Hatton Hill.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends going to the cinema in my spare time!

Jenny Harrison

After School Club Supervisor

I have been working at Hatton Hill for 6 years. I have experience with all ages and enjoy helping in other rooms. I have a BTEC in Early Years and have been the After School Club supervisor since 2008. Outside of work I enjoy spending time at home, going out with friends, going to the cinema and swimming

Hazel Jones

Behaviour managemant co-ordinator

My name is Hazel Jones and I have completed my Cache Diploma in Childcare and Education in June 2007. I then started working at Hatton Hill in July 2007. I did placements in schools, nurseries and a baby unit which were all very different but fun! I enjoy dancing, reading and many other activities.

I also liaise with other professionals in providing extra support for children. I attend regular training in this area in order to keep updated as well as refresing previous experiences.
